Azaleos Offers Midmarket Companies Flat Fee Migration to Remotely Managed Microsoft Exchange Service
3/3/2008
SEATTLE, Wash., March 3, 2008 - Azaleos® Corporation, the managed Microsoft Exchange services company, today announced a flat fee offer for midmarket companies that want to migrate Lotus Notes, Novell Groupwise, and Pre-2007 Microsoft Exchange messaging systems to its managed service. Azaleos managed services use a unique hybrid model that combines an on-premise appliance with remote management services to maintain e-mail data behind the customer’s firewall, preserve Active Directory investments, and provide easy access to e-mail archives.

Unlike hosted Exchange providers that require organizations to turn over control of their messaging systems and have their e-mail and archives stored off-site, the Azaleos’ on-premise solution allows companies to keep control of their Exchange application and maintain data in-house. In the event of a problem, Azaleos Services guarantee messaging information remains accessible. Azaleos has published a whitepaper that compares the risks and benefits of in-house managed e-mail, hosted Exchange offerings and its remotely managed services. A free copy of the whitepaper is available at http://www.azaleos.com/request_download.html?id=28.

Migrating existing messaging systems is expensive, time consuming and complex. For a flat fee, Azaleos will perform migration assessment and planning, and move all mail boxes to its managed service. Azaleos’ team of messaging experts uses custom developed tools and best practices to maintain e-mail services during a controlled transition to the managed service.

“Unlike our larger enterprise customers, many midmarket organizations are intimidated by the cost and complexity of migrating from their legacy messaging platforms to Microsoft Exchange 2007,” said Keith McCall, CTO of Azaleos. “The Azaleos migration offer removes this barrier and enables midmarket companies to outsource the day-to-day management of their messaging infrastructure, while allowing them to maintain e-mail data in-house for easy e-discovery, compliance, and peace of mind.”

Complete Menu of Managed Services
Azaleos provides a flexible and modular portfolio of managed Exchange services that are centered around customer server for Microsoft Exchange 2007, a high availability, hardened e-mail appliance that is managed remotely by experts in the Azaleos network operations center. A virtualized edition of customer server is also available that reduces the number of physical servers required to deploy Exchange 2007 from four to two. Managed services include:

  • ManageXchange, a remote command and control service that allows Azaleos technicians to monitor, manage, patch, troubleshoot and fix issues in a customer’s Exchange environment on a 24x7 basis.
  • ViewXchange, which provides real-time graphical views and formatted reports that cover Exchange health monitoring, e-mail traffic analysis for both internal and external e-mail, as well as message hygiene including SPAM and virus activity, archiving, and mobility statistics.
  • ArchiveXchange, which automatically archives and stores e-mail from the Exchange server to secondary storage to improve performance and reduce costs. ArchiveXchange enables users to access older mail seamlessly using Outlook, web browsers, or mobile devices.
Pricing, Details and Availability
The Azaleos Migration offer is available through June 30, 2008 for midmarket customers with up to 1,000 mailboxes. Flat rate pricing for most migration projects from either pre-2007 versions of Microsoft Exchange or from non-Exchange platforms to the Azaleos OneStop service is $5,000. Customers must sign a two year agreement.
