Why Azaleos?

The decision regarding how best to architect and deploy a messaging & collaboration platform using Microsoft Exchange is becoming increasingly complex. Different methods for how to establish and maintain the Exchange platform emerge led by the new Azaleos service. Before implementing the Microsoft Exchange system it is important to understand the differences between the various management options. Today, the industry recognizes primarily two different approaches for running Exchange:
  1. The on-premise, in-house method whereby the IT department architects, configures, deploys, monitors and manages Exchange all utilizing in-house personnel and systems; and
  2. The Hosted Exchange service method whereby a cloud service provider creates a multi-tenancy Exchange server farm and offers companies server space to run all Exchange functions thereby allowing the company to connect back to the hosted provider with their in-house Outlook clients.
Azaleos now introduces an exciting third option to the game and the result is a HYBRID, “best of both worlds” solution combining an enterprise-class Exchange appliance and remote managed Exchange services. The Azaleos OneServer appliance and set of OneStop managed services offer unmatched 99.9% uptime, proactive 24x7 monitoring by our elite Exchange SME's (Subject Matter Experts).  The Azaleos NOC (Network Operation Center) experts are the outsourced Exchange IT department and focus in on patch management, system fixes, and reporting. Further, the Azaleos hybrid model trumps both of the incumbent models by eliminating the top pitfalls of both the in-house model and of the hosted Exchange model.

EXTENDED ANSWER

Why Azaleos?

The choice of an in-house model offers a number of major pitfalls to IT as follows:
  1. Control: hard for internal IT to guarantee 99.9% uptime;
  2. Cost: in-house personnel are costly to train and recruit, especially to insure 24x7 coverage of Exchange;
  3. Complexity: it continues to grow more difficult to architect, migrate, deploy, monitor and manage all aspects of the Exchange messaging system.
The choice of a hosted Exchange model also offers its own set of pitfalls to IT in a company looking to sign on, as follows:
  1. Control: a hosted Exchange provider takes away your control of down-time, data confidentiality, maintenance windows and so on.
  2. Complexity: most of the available Hosted Exchange providers offer only multi-tenancy options and create a single point of failure for your e-mail;
  3. Lack of Customization: Hosters do not offer much flexibility with respect to management policies and systems architecture.
The Azaleos hybrid solution either matches or beats both the in-house as well as the hosted Exchange solution across 15 different key category areas. With Azaleos OneStop services you can maximize your control and decrease the costs and complexity associated with working with Exchange Server.
