Managed service providers Azaleos and M3Technology have merged their operations around remote management of Microsoft Exchange. The two companies will have network operation centers on the East Coast, where M3 is headquartered, and the West Coast, where Azaleos is located. The centers are located in Charlotte, N.C. and Seattle.

Despite the horrendous economy, regional managed service providers are merging to form national MSPs that blanket the United States. The latest example: Azaleos and M3 Technology Group have merged to create a coast-to-coast managed service provider whose clients include Chiquita, Alcon and Wendy’s/Arby’s. Azaleos now claims to have “the highest concentration of Exchange and Unified Communications expertise outside of Microsoft.”

Seattle-based Azaleos, which helps corporations more effectively manage email servers, is merging with Charlotte, North Carolina-based M3 Technology Group in a stock-for-stock deal. Azaleos CEO Phil Van Etten will retain the CEO position at the company, which will operate under the name Azaleos. It will employ more than 125 workers.
