Azaleos employs a Best Practice-driven approach for the following migrations:

Exchange-to-Exchange Migrations
The two most common Exchange-to-Exchange migration scenarios we work on are inter-org and intra-org migrations. Inter-org migrations involve deploying Exchange in a completely new organization that is separate from the existing organization and then moving mailboxes from one organization to the new one. This type of migration is common in companies where an acquisition or merger has taken place and restructuring is the best choice when designing the ultimate Exchange environment. Intra-org migrations consist of upgrading an Exchange version within the same Exchange organization. Consolidating older Exchange servers to fewer, more scalable new Exchange servers uses less software licenses, hardware leases and reduces administrative overhead.

Once we define your preferred migration path, we’ll synchronize Active Directory and Exchange data, including public folders, calendar information and mailbox information. We’ll update user Outlook profiles, helping to ensure a seamless, efficient Exchange migration.

Groupwise-to-Exchange Migrations
Azaleos performs direct migrations from GroupWise to Exchange 2007. This process converts users’ mail, calendars, tasks, personal address books and frequent contacts and stores them on users’ new mailboxes on the Exchange server ensuring preservation of important enterprise information. Azaleos also migrates GroupWise Archives into Microsoft Outlook personal stores. We’ll ensure uninterrupted user messaging and collaboration while simplifying administration and resolving any configuration issues. We can even accelerate large-scale migrations by running migrations on multiple servers in parallel.

Lotus Notes-to-Exchange Migrations
The migration path from Notes to Exchange depends on factors such as size of current Notes environment, logical structure of the current Notes environment and the proposed logical design requirements of the target Exchange environment. Because Lotus Notes and MS Exchange Server have workgroup capabilities, it is more complex to migrate between them than it is to migrate between many other email systems. Migration from conventional email systems generally involves the directory, users’ stored messages and address books, and establishing proper connections between systems and the outside world. Workgroup applications often require the project team to consider migrating directly to Microsoft Exchange, co-existing with Notes or some combination of the two. Azaleos ensures a minimal predictable coexistence (if applicable) and migration period with the least possible administrative cost and best user experience.

Active Directory-to-Active Directory Migrations
Azaleos' rich Active Directory migration experience includes Inter- and Intra-forest migration, restructuring, expanding and collapsing. Inter-Forest migration scenarios typically involve the migration of objects and resources between Active Directory forests. This type of migration is more common in companies where an acquisition or merger has taken place and restructuring of the forest is required. Intra-Forest migration scenarios typically include restructuring and collapsing resources in the same Active Directory forest. This type of migration is common in companies that need to expand or consolidate the number of their domains.

Novell (NDS)-to-Active Directory Migrations
Azaleos incorporates an enterprise-wide NDS-to-AD methodology. Migrating without a comprehensive approach usually means manually creating objects and re-assigning rights, which is a risky process. Azaleos ensures a smooth, optimal migration by automating updates of end-user desktops so profiles, mapped drives, desktop shortcuts and server-side OLE links continue to function during and after the migration. We’ll also provide clean-up options, such as removal of the Novell Client from end-user desktops, saving administrators the trouble of visiting each workstation and minimizing help desk calls.

SharePoint Migrations
Migrating SharePoint data seems like it should be a straightforward process but as with any task within SharePoint, proper planning and understanding of server and user impact is critical.
