Azaleos recognized by eWeek for Managed Exchange and SharePoint solutions, virtualization.2008 e-Week Excellence Award: Collaboration Category
"Azaleos offers a beneficial mixture of SAAS and on-premises virtues by enabling organizations to deploy Exchange e-mail in the form of a hardware appliance that lives on your premises, but that is remotely managed---and backed up---by Azaleos."

Virtualization
Azaleos leverages both Hyper-V (recommended) and VMware (supported) technology for customers looking for cost-effective physical hardware utilization and reduced power consumption requirements.  Our service set isn't limited by this choice- Azaleos still delivers the same managed services for Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Lync, Active Directory and BlackBerry Enterprise Server with availability and disaster recovery options.

exchange server virtualization, hyper-v, vmware for exchange, sharepoint serverOur virtualization approach minimizes the upfront hardware costs and the long-term server maintenance costs to the customer while offering the same load balancing and DR solutions available with physical infrastructure.  Azaleos monitors both the host and guest environments and offers disaster-recovery options also monitored from our different NOCs. The Azaleos Hyper-V and VMware-based solutions offer the same set of SLAs as our physical infrastructure solutions and deliver enhanced performance for Exchange server as well as reduced operational costs.

Read our whitepaper Virtualizing Microsoft Exchange Server for a look at the pros and cons of the various options available.

Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Lync, Active Directory and BlackBerry Enterprise Servers are great targets for virtualization as a standalone project or as part of a server consolidation.  Virtualization allows Azaleos to provide a low-cost, highly available virtual infrastructure for Microsoft UC Servers, which would normally require multiple physical servers just for the primary server roles, on only a minimized number of physical servers and one physical storage device.

  • Virtualization Platform Recommendation:  Azaleos will support both HyperV as well as VMware customer environments, HOWEVER we recommend (both for price and performance reasons) the Microsoft HyperV environment for all of our UC stack environments that we design and manage.
  • High reliability and availability: Continue to leverage the same levels of reliability and availability from Exchange, SharePoint and Lync that you would on the standard physical platform version
  • Rapid Deployment: Through industry and Azaleos' innovation, the barriers that used to exist around being able to virtualize an Exchange, SharePoint or Lync environments have been removed and customers can now adopt and quickly realize the benefits of server virtualization for their corporate environments.
  • Consolidation: Clustered, highly available Exchange, SharePoint, or Lync server roles available for deployment on two physical servers, supporting virtual Hyper-V (or VMware) environments on all major server hardware.
  • Performance: Exchange, SharePoint and Lync architectures can leverage more RAM resulting in major performance improvements. As a result (for example), Exchange 2010 performs better than Exchange 2007 inside a virtual machine.
  • Reduced Exchange operational costs and Improved server utilization: The process of consolidating many small Microsoft UC servers or server roles onto fewer physical servers helps to reduce hardware procurement and maintenance, and power costs for the IT environment.
Hyper-V/VMware Support Statement:
While Azaleos services are expected to function properly in a virtual environment, there may be performance implications which can invalidate typical sizing and recommendations. See the Azaleos "Virtualizing Exchange" whitepaper for more details.
